You go there to photograph the Trevi Fountain, one of the world’s most beautiful fountains. But instead of having to contend with hundreds of other tourists, the place barely has visitors, and you have the fountain all to yourself. That would be amazing, wouldn’t it? But due to the outbreak of COVID-19, that has been the case in many tourist spots around the world. This is one of the reasons why Vijaya Prakash Boggala suggests photographers who have been planning on traveling should travel now instead of later, given that they have been vaccinated already. Here are other reasons why photographers should catch the next plane out.

Money saver

Travel is really cheap right now, specifically plane tickets and accommodations. Luckily, these two are some of the biggest budget concerns when planning a trip anywhere. This means with the money you have right now; you can either stay longer or get more mileage for your dollar.

<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Candara",sans-serif;">Image
source: news.artnet.com

New content is available

The lack of tourists in a highly popular area makes the shot even more desirable. Imagine being able to capture drone footage of the pristine lagoons of the Philippines’ El Nido without a single tourist boat in sight or an empty Roman Coliseum at your disposal. These images and videos were impossible to get without spending thousands of dollars and obtaining permits to shoot until now.

Vijaya Prakash Boggala claims that this window won’t be here for long. This opportunity will go away as soon as economies begin opening once again and mainstream travel and tourism are allowed to recover. When that happens, prices might skyrocket depending on one’s destination.

Back in February 2020, the tennis top star announced that he will undergo two surgeries for his right knee. Federer skipped the whole year and promises to be back in action by March 2021.

Loyal tennis fans are eager to see the Swiss star come back from knee surgeries, and race toward another grand slam title or two before he hangs up his racquet, says Vijaya Prakash Boggala. A subject of rumors and discussion over the recent years, Federer and his team still do not paint a clear picture regarding his retirement. Considered the greatest of all time by many, he has pushed the sport to greater heights with his demeanor and playing style.

While many may claim that learning photography is easy, every student reaches a plateau where they feel like they can’t learn anything more unless they are presented with vastly different situations, where they would need to adjust for them to learn how to adjust. According to avid photographer Vijaya Prakash Boggala, challenging ourselves is a great way to gain experience and learn more as a photographer. Here are some easy-to-do photo projects for absolute beginners.

<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Candara",sans-serif;">Image

Take one subject and photograph it in 10 different ways. What ways can you utilize? That’s up to you. Black and White, blurred background, macro, using leading lines, just make sure you can reach 10. It also helps if you give yourself a deadline, like an hour to accomplish everything. A ramped-up version of this challenge is to do one subject and find the many ways to photograph it within one day, provided a day of preparations.

Portraits
One important aspect of shooting people is the social interaction. Some photographers find it awkward to talk to people when asking to take their portraits. This can help you iron out small necessities while still working on your photography skills.

<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Candara",sans-serif;">Image
source: <span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "Candara",sans-serif;">youtube.com

Turning off auto focus
When you turn autofocus off, your camera becomes a much harder gadget to operate. A lot of photographers rely on the autofocus mode, but hardly gets better because they are already satisfied with that mode. Vijaya Prakash Boggala claims that forcing yourself to take care of everything manually allows you to learn and really understand the capability of your camera.

Regardless whether the virus has mutated into a lesser version of its original form or not, strict health and safety protocols are to be followed, still. The ATP Finals in London was held in O2 Arena behind closed doors, housing players and their teams in a bio-bubble, says Vijaya Prakash Boggala.

The United Kingdom has recorded more than one million COVID-19 cases, urging British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to announce a national lockdown anew. Other countries such as Austria, Portugal, and Greece have announced a lockdown for the second time around. The new lockdown protocols set in the UK are stricter than the first one as it requires all non-essential businesses to close. People are advised to stay home to prevent the further spread of the virus.

Even with stricter lockdown measures, the ATP was certain about pushing through with the Finals. The tennis governing body followed every health protocol set by the government and ensured the fans that all safety measures were conducted throughout the year-end tournament.

According to Vijaya Prakash Boggala, the Nitto ATP Finals should have been a feast for fans of lives sports, having Roland Garros 2020 Men’s Champion Rafael Nadal, world No.1 Novak Djokovic, and rising stars US Open 2020 Men’s Champion Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Diego Schwartzman, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Andrey Rublev playing the best tennis at one of the sport’s grandest stages. Tennis icon and former world no. 1 Roger Federer skipped this year’s ATP Finals to focus on recovery and the rehabilitation of his knee.

In tennis, the GOAT debate has been ongoing since Roger Federer broke Pete Sampras’ record for most Grand Slam titles. Some folks try to include others in the running, referencing other wins, not Grand Slam titles alone.

Many long-time tennis fans are quick to turn to Federer as the GOAT, mentions tennis fan Vijaya Prakash Boggala. Rafael Nadal comes second due to his rivalry with Federer. Another contender for the crown is Novak Djokovic, with the most number of ATP Tour Masters 1000 titles. However, when it comes to fan love, Grand Slam titles, and overall respect, Djokovic falls short of being in the race for being named the sport’s GOAT.

True fans of the sport are tired of the GOAT debate, as certain players are the greatest during their time. The idea that only one reigns supreme in the sport is a selfish, unedifying concept, mostly unfair to other players. While even professional tennis players have their favorites, they are quick to defend the efforts of other pros included in the GOAT debate.

The rest of the sport would be in hot water should the debate continue. The three have definitely elevated the sport to incredible heights, but considering only three names to be the GOAT discredits all the achievements the sport’s legends have achieved. While rankings and statistics never lie, picking a GOAT would be a subjective thing.

Vijaya Prakash Boggala writes medical abstracts and enjoys a variety of arts and DIY projects. The photographers at the International Journalists Network served up a few best practices on how to take pictures on the field.
First and foremost, photojournalists should always mind and obey safety protocols like social distancing and wearing masks. No one should go out on a limb just to take a great shot. The good thing is there are now many devices that enable a photographer to take shots from afar like long lenses. You should also prioritize spending as little time shooting outside. This means you will have to thoroughly plan your work so you get in and get out fast.
When going on assignments or photography trips, preparation is key. Make sure you carry a first aid kit or medical supplies with you at all times. Aside from this, you should also keep up with the research on the COVID-19 virus so you can anticipate developments on the field while shooting on site.
You should mind how you treat your subjects. Make sure you’re honoring and capturing their dignity. Avoid increasing tension during an emergency and take shots only at calmer instances.
Finally, make sure to check your own condition to see if you’re feeling well. Reporting your own health may save the life of other photographers, your subjects, and your team, Vijaya Prakash Boggala adds.

While some artworks are easily replicated, others are just downright impossible because of the level of difficulty the technique requires to make the said artwork. Avid painter Vijaya Prakash Boggala claims that these are some of the most difficult painting styles to replicate.

Naturalism: Best exemplified by William-Adolphe Bouguereau in his renditions of the human figure, naturalism takes years of training and a natural ability to master. There is a reason why the nude figure was considered the pinnacle of the achievement in the Royal Academy of France. Just the attention to detail alone and the depiction of the human figure makes it nearly impossible to replicate.

Abstract Expressionism: Looking at a lot of works of Jackson Pollock may give one the idea that merely splashing some paint on canvas can be considered art. While it does to a degree, not knowing the techniques behind the paintings of Pollock makes the assessment juvenile. One might come close to the style of Pollock, but creating a replica cannot be done.

Impressionism: One would think that because impressionism doesn't use a lot of fine details, it would be easier to replicate. However, according to Vijaya Prakash Boggala, there is a great difficulty behind the many impressionist styles in the art world. Impressionism combines the use of color and value to create images that don't necessarily rely on fine details.

On July 7 to 9, NBA teams are set to fly to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando for the association’s comeback. Should players miss the mandatory testing for COVID-19, they will be forbidden to travel with their teams, and must arrange flights and drives for themselves to Orlando.

The Milwaukee Bucks reportedly shut down their training facility prior the scheduled fly out to Orlando after a round of COVID-19 tests taken Friday, July 3rd, came back with an undisclosed number of positive results. Vijaya Prakash Boggala says other teams like Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, and Brooklyn Nets have closed down their training facilities following a series of positive results for the virus.
Prior to playing in Orlando, a player must test negative twice before receiving a go signal from medical authorities, a provision stipulated in the league’s health and safety guidelines. Players who will fly or drive out privately to Orlando will have to test negative twice before heading to Walt Disney World Resort. Should they hop onto commercial flights, players are required to have a record of three consecutive negative COVID-19 test results to make it to the games, mentions Vijaya Prakash Boggala.

While entering the NBA “bubble” in Orlando requires a long list of health and safety precautions, the comeback is not regarded as a premature move for the league as strict protocols are being observed. In addition, autonomous decisions regarding training, testing, and self-isolation carried out by teams ensure the safety of players and other NBA officials.
As we all gather ourselves in search of the new normal, photographer Vijaya Prakash Boggala believes that photography can give us a clear picture of our current situation and possibly what comes next. If you want to flex your photography skills today, here are some interesting subjects you can take on during this pandemic, provided you follow all necessary safety protocols such as wearing a face mask and follow social distancing rules.

Cityscapes
Streets are empty, there are hardly people around, and it looks like the setting of an eerie movie. Photographers can highlight the beauty of empty spaces, cityscapes that are devoid of humans as subjects. It’s also an opportunity to take photos of nearby sights that are often filled with people before the pandemic hit.

The new normal
Through photographs, we can define what the new normal is; people walking a safe distance from one another, people working from home, designated standing spots in supermarkets. Your photos can show how society is adjusting to the impact of COVID-19.

Food photography
A lot of people have taken to the kitchen to learn how to cook or bake. You can do the same and learn how to plate well as well as photograph your works. This small challenge can really help you improve your lighting skills, as well as photo editing skills if you like manipulating your shots in a computer.

Nature photography
Given that people have been avoiding nature-rich locations like national parks, Vijaya Prakash Boggala believes that nature photography would reflect something new. Here, we can see nature reclaim, heal, or even revert back to its original form.

The league’s announcement regarding the season’s suspension was followed by questions about the welfare of stadium workers and team staff who are usually paid by the hour.

Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks owner, led the movement to support stadium workers who will lose their hourly income as a result of the suspension. Following Cuban’s statement, other teams announced their plans to assist their workers as well. Vijaya Prakash Boggala mentions that Cuban’s program to provide for their stadium workers financially inspired other sports associations to follow suit.

According to sports and communications analysts, the NBA is in the position to help and speak out for others, something team owners and players have acknowledged and embodied throughout the years. On top of having programs in place for non-salaried arena workers, NBA and Major League Baseball teams pledged donations to local food banks, emergency food services, disaster relief operations, food banks, hospitals, and other medical institutions. NBA player Jeremy Lin donated $150,000 to UNICEF to aid in the fight against COVID-19, shares Vijaya Prakash Boggala.

Rudy Gobert, the first player in the NBA to test positive for COVID-19, pledged to donate $500,000 to different causes; $200,000 will go to game-day employees, $100,000 to families in Oklahoma affected by the virus, $100,000 to families in Utah for the same reason, and 100,000 euros to France, his native country. Reported or unreported, many NBA stars are helping their communities, and the nation fight COVID-19 in their own ways.

Businesses came to a halt, and events, regardless of the number of attendees, were postponed or canceled, giving photographers free time to improve on their skills and reinvent themselves.

For some people, self-isolation is reintroducing them to their love for music, film, literature, and other art forms. The same should go for photographers. Days spent on quarantine don’t have to be boring. It’s the perfect time to brush up on food photography skills. Grab the simplest ingredients in the cupboard and practice composition and lighting, says DIY and photography enthusiast Vijaya Prakash Boggala.

Take on the A-Z photography challenge. Shoot a subject that corresponds to every letter of the English alphabet. The most challenging subjects will be the ones that start with letters X and Z. During quarantine, dedicate a day to learn to shoot oil and water. A photographer can focus on learning macro photography skills with this project. To play around with lighting, shoot by candlelight. Remember to include the candle in the frame to let the viewers understand the composition, says Vijaya Prakash Boggala.

Paint with light. Since this is a long exposure shoot, don’t forget to use a tripod for the whole duration. Draw around the subject, and create string lights as background. Staying at home for an extended period should fuel one’s creativity, not block it.
During his free time, medical abstractor Vijaya Prakash Boggala dabbles in art and photography. These pursuits are a great way to use one's creative energy. It's important to have the right materials to create good work. For visual artists, this means using the right kind of paint. What are the types of paint commonly used by artists?

Acrylic: For artists on a budget, acrylic is usually the best option. It can also be used on paper, canvas, wood, and even metal. Those who want a water-based material for projects can use this type of paint. Kids can also use this paint for quick and fast-drying DIY projects. However, brushes must be cleaned immediately after use for the paint can harden the bristles.

Oil: Artists have been using oil-based paint for centuries. This kind of paint produces rich pigments perfect for creating texture. According to Vijaya Prakash Boggala, one needs to be careful when using oil as it can be messier than other types of paint. It can also take a long time to dry. This kind of paint blends well, allowing artists to improve details on their work further.

Watercolor: This kind of paint is probably the most commonly used among beginners. Watercolor is paint suspended in a water-based solution. While most artists use this paint with paper, this can also work with fabric, wood, and leather. The transparent layer it creates is also suitable for blending and layering.

Understanding when and how to use different kinds of paint will help artists find the most suitable type for their project. Practicing with paint help in polishing the skills of artists of all levels.

She became a crowd favorite during last year’s Wimbledon, and her succeeding wins enabled her to carry the fans to a new level of tennis.
Currently ranked No. 71 following her pilot WTA singles title, Gauff has all eyes on her as she trains and tries to grab more titles in 2020, says tennis fan Vijaya Prakash Boggala. Gauff finished 2019 with a doubles title in Luxembourg Open with Caty McNall, even with WTA’s age eligibility rule, a provision that limits the number of tournaments women under the age of 18 can play. Unlike most teens her age, Gauff isn’t looking forward to her sweet 16. Instead, she is on the lookout for major titles.
More than the driving privileges she will gain when she reaches 16, Gauff can participate in two more tournaments in 2020. With a ranking like hers, a player can gain entry into Indian Wells in March. Exhibition matches are not included in WTA’s age eligibility rule, allowing Gauff to participate in a few matches in 2020.

Vijaya Prakash Boggala says that Coco Gauff can play more tournaments in the future, including the Olympics and Fed Cup, given that she qualifies for them. Following a successful run in 2019, Gauff certainly is a player to watch out for.
For one, both require a person to participate in the activity, and second, there is mostly chasing involved: As an athlete chases a ball, a photographer tries to catch up with the action. A common type of thrill glues these two worlds and strengthened by the art it produces.
Aside from the action, photographers do their best to capture emotions on court, on the field, or in the water. Many award-winning photos highlight the victory or loss of athletes. For Vijaya Prakash Boggala, a sports fan and a photographer, sports photography immerses one in the world of action, adrenaline, and emotion. With trained eyes and sharp gut feeling, sports photographers can capture important moments perfectly.
In many instances, sports photographers help build an athlete’s legacy. By freezing frame at the right moment, an athlete’s passion, grit, and victory are captured and immortalized. A photographer is like an athlete in many ways. They train for years to achieve success in their field. They put in the hard work on and off the court, and they invest in professional equipment, according to Vijaya Prakash Boggala.

While sports photography usually captures the action on the court, one must not forget that the best moments immortalized are those that highlight sportsmanship. Legendary sporting events achieved their status due to photographers’ great eye in capturing solemn minutes among players.
Generally, DIY projects cost less</>. There are no labor expenses that can cost a lot depending on the project, and one can mix and match various materials to achieve a high-end piece but with a cheaper price tag. Working with your hands develops a valuable skill. Vijaya Prakash Boggala regards DIY projects as a means for individuals to teach themselves how to be independent. Mental sharpness is incredibly important when building DIY projects. It combats the typical habit of working a day job then heading home to eat dinner and watch TV all night.
The contentment and satisfaction one can gain from building things with their own hands can’t be matched by other hobbies. When you finish a DIY piece, it’s as if you’ve been given a medal for a job well done. Improvement is top of mind. One’s quest for improvement opens the door for them to meet people who may have the same passion as them for DIY projects.

Vijaya Prakash Boggala notes that if one really does well with their DIY projects, they can make a living out of it. A hobbyist can go beyond saving money for building projects on their own to making money out of doing commissioned work. Lastly, DIY projects can be great for those who need to exercise. Creating pieces with bare hands and with several tools would require one to get moving.
With Andy Murray focusing more on doubles than on singles due to his persistent injuries, Grand Slam trophies are passed around Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.
Whenever the Big Four play large tournaments and Grand Slams, fans around the world can’t help but feel nostalgic. It can be difficult to watch the sport without these great names, which leaves the people to think: Where’s the next generation? Many enthusiasts feel as though the next generation of players is taking too long to rise. And fans like Vijaya Prakash Boggala believe that the next big names in tennis have enormous shoes to fill.

Players such as the Big Four have contributed greatly to the sport, on and off court. Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Federer has mentioned Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger Aliassime, Daniil Medvedev, and Denis Shapovalov to be the next-gen ATP stars who impress him the most. Top players like Nick Krygios and Alexander Zverev didn’t seem to make the cut. The two have been on the rise for years now, yet can’t seem to breakthrough.
For fans like Vijaya Prakash Boggala, the four players mentioned by Federer are the ones who have what it takes to be the next Big Four. Playing amazing tennis is one thing, and being respectful to opponents and fans is another. More than winning Grand Slams, the Big Four brought the game to a whole new level through their respect to the sport and one another.
Acrylic is highly recommended because it mixes readily with water, allowing you to easily blend and experiment with various colors.
Acrylic is ideal for wood, which quickly absorbs moisture. It is unlike the non-porous canvas. Acrylic paints are themselves highly porous, quickly permeating the wood and drying between the coats. When acrylic gets dry, it becomes highly water resistant and stays on wooden blocks for years. This equates to less maintenance coupled with durability.

Acrylic paints are also less opaque and thinner, which makes them best suited for wood as opposed to other types of paints, like oil. Which is why most manufacturers of wooden crafts and wooden blocks will say that acrylic is best for a variety of projects, from accents to wall décor and birdhouses.
You’d likewise only need a small amount of acrylic paint on your wood projects, as acrylic has a low viscosity. Moreover, it is non-toxic, making it safe especially if you have kids at home who’d be inclined to play with wooded blocks. Lastly, acrylic is both readily available everywhere and is generally inexpensive, Vijaya Prakash Boggala adds.
When learning photography, a lot of people seem to have a hard time handling exposure. Exposure can be very tricky to master because it deals with three important camera settings, which are aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Sticking to recommended settings or staying on auto won’t help you improve, according to avid photographer Vijaya Prakash Boggala. To help you tackle exposure, here are some easy to follow beginner photographer tips.

Unfortunately, there’s no other way than to tackle the three elements of exposure head on. So let’s start with Aperture. Aperture is the size of the lens opening used when you are taking a photo. This basically means the bigger your photo, like a landscape picture, the more light you will need.

Settings-wise, F22 is very small while F1.4 is very wide open. This also affects your depth of field.
Next, ISO is your camera sensor’s sensitivity to available light. The brighter the available light, the more you can lower your ISO. However, as available light gets less and less, increasing the ISO allows more light to come in. Do keep in mind that the higher ISO you use, the greater the noise or fuzz there will be in the picture.

Lastly, there’s shutter speed. Shutter speed is the amount of time the shutter is open. The length of time that the shutter is open determines how much motion it can capture. High shutter speeds allow you to capture fast movements while low shutter speeds take in more light, making the photo blurry.

According to Vijaya Prakash Boggala, the best way of thinking about exposure is pretending the camera lens is your eye. Aperture is your eyelids, ISO is how your eyes react to light, and Shutter speed is your focus on an object.

To reach his dream win at Monte Carlo, Fabio Fognini had to face the King of Clay: Rafael Nadal. Any tennis fan knows that Rafa is the man to beat at any clay court tournament. However, following his win over him, Fognini was quick to acknowledge the multiple grand slam winner as “still the favorite.”

Fognini’s straight-set win against Nadal in the semifinals of Monte Carlo is a testament of his strength and grit on the court. Vijaya Prakash Boggala, a tennis fan, regards this win as one of the Italian’s best performances. Fognini is a force to be reckoned with, having won matches in grand slam tournaments and a few titles in the circuit. Prior to his meeting with Nadal in Monte Carlo, he mentioned to the Spaniard that he has what it takes to defeat him. He proved truthful, defeating Rafa in straight sets, on his favorite surface.
For Fognini, nothing was wrong with his opponent. He just obviously emerged as the better player. Fans around the world are quick to agree with him, as he truly gave them a show with his skillful shots against Nadal in the semifinals and Serbian Dusan Lajovic in the final.

Players like him are able to produce top quality tennis, says Vijaya Prakash Boggala. Fognini knows his way around the courts, and has tricks up his sleeve that can disarm favored opponents. Final opponent Dusan Lajovic remarks that Fognini deserved to win the title in Monte Carlo. The Italian played had played his maximum level, gaining supporters from around the world.
One of the most important lessons tennis can teach you is that you’re the only one responsible for the outcome of anything you’re doing. You have total control over your actions, reactions, and emotions, and it’s up to you to use them for your benefit. Vijaya Prakash-Boggala, a fan of the sport, says that it teaches you about self-awareness . It’s important to know yourself so you can improve as a player and as a person.

Failure isn’t a one-time thing. Even the best champions can lose points, games, sets, and matches, yet that doesn’t stop them from getting back up. Resilience is vital to triumph over challenges. In life and career, correct practice matters. With the right techniques taught by coaches and mentors, challenges can be overcome with confidence.
Confidence is integral in life and at work. Vijaya Prakash-Boggala says confidence and determination can set you apart from the rest, as staying focused and motivated is what will drive you to keep practicing, improving, and winning. Grand Slam wins aren’t a product of luck; they are the outcome of all the seven lessons tennis can teach individuals from all walks of life.
Acrylic painting has a number of advantages over oil and watercolor. In fact, it combines the vividness of watercolor and the concentration of oil paints in a medium that even boasts of practical features like quick-drying application and general durability when compared to other media. It also became popular as a safer alternative for people who felt apprehensive about the continuous use of oil and the bad effects of inhaling the fumes.

Development of the medium from synthetic resins already began in the 19th century, but its prevalence only happened after World War II. Its adoption by the most iconic contemporary artists of the 20th century added to its appeal. Here are some of the best acrylic paintings that marked a new era in the visual arts:

Untitled (Black on Grey) by Mark Rothko

One of the most luminous proponents of Abstract Expressionism, Rothko’s color field paintings are some of the best representatives of the style. The intimations of a dark landscape are unusually sharp and biting with acrylic paints.

200 Campbell Soup Cans by Andy Warhol

The undisputed master and champion of Pop Art, Warhol’s Campbell works are iconic images that challenge people’s view of artistic production and subject. They might also say something about consumerism, but that is for another time.

A Bigger Splash by David Hockney

Another pillar of Pop Art, David Hockney lived in California for a long time, and it is where he conceived his swimming pool paintings, a subject that would be associated with him. This work is one of them. The brightly lit surface made possible by acrylic paints implies so much more depth and mystery.

Oil painting is a medium preferred by a lot of artists. Among the fluid methods, it is the most flexible when it comes to the production of effects one might need to create a visual stunner. The range of possible textures and color mixtures or gradations can easily be achieved on different surfaces but most notably on canvas and wooden panel.

The art world, across centuries and traditions, was graced by a lot of aesthetically superior and provocative examples of oil painting. Here are three of the most memorable and arresting works in this medium:
The Old Guitarist
This oil on panel painting by Pablo Picasso, arguably the most formidable Western artist during the first half of the twentieth century, is from the Blue Period. The temporal frame is a means of classifying works where he used a monochromatic palette, typically depicting oppressed figures and characters.
The Milkmaid
The Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer was quite famous as a genre painter of domestic interior scenes. Like a lot of his works, this painting has a photographically realistic finish that prominently features Vermeer’s keen understanding of the intricacies of chiaroscuro.
American Gothic
This iconic and quintessential American artwork by Grant Wood is representative of Regionalism, a movement that championed representational images of rural America. There is something completely anachronistic but deliciously appropriate (to the subject matter) about its style of realism, which owes a great deal to Northern Renaissance painters like Hieronymus Bosch and Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
Not a lot of people enjoy doing do-it-yourself or DIY projects. While such projects can be messy and time-consuming, they do bring a lot of benefits. Here’s why anyone should try building (or creating) instead of buying.

Save money. DIY projects help people save a lot of money. Many homeowners spend thousands of dollars to buy furniture or schedule repairs. But DIY allows them to save on repair service costs and other expenses.
Choosing which surface to paint on is as important as selecting the art medium. And for those who want to use acrylic as material, the painting surface should not be too greasy nor glossy. Here are some of the best ones to use:

Canvas

The most common surface used by artists, canvas is also an ideal choice for acrylic painters because of the ease of working on it coupled with its affordability. Acrylic also does not degrade the fibers of canvas as time passes, which means that there is no more need to prime the canvas.

But because linen canvas has a smooth, stiff surface, it is not that recommendable for acrylic painting. It is better to opt for a raw cotton canvas.

Paper

Paper is another perfect painting surface for acrylic because of its texture. Take note, however, that acrylic contracts when it dries, rendering thin paper impractical. The paper’s edges can be secured by applying removable tape on the edges, preventing it from wrinkling or warping too much. A thicker type of paper can also be used.

Board

Initially introduced to facilitate painting outdoors, artists have also started to prefer art boards even when indoors as it can be convenient for some. Examples of art boards that are ideal for acrylic painting are canvas boards, museum boards, fiber boards, and wooden boards.
